Since I'm swapping rear ends, I figure it'll be a good time to level out the rear. Anyone have info on lowering blocks and longer U bolts?

Gonna have to make the blocks or cut down known blocks. I think jeep front ubolts work for diff dia, but are larger thread diameter, so the plate holes needs to be oversized slightly.
Problem is with buying a kit, is model....there is a Ubolt manufacturer that will make you whatever you want, but they would rather sell you 10.
My plan is 1”.
Still waiting for Eric to find his receipt from Summit lol.
Not hard to do later .).)

Thanks, anyone have any pics of what the blocks look like? centering bolts or pins? I might make a trip to the off road shop near me and should be able to find something to trim down.

Here's the deal on the aftermarket blocks and u bolts that I found: I could not find any aftermarket blocks that were small enough to fit within the metal clamping plates of a stock Roadster rear left spring set up. I ended up buying a set from summit racing. Since the blocks were too long, they would ride on the edges of the metal plate. They did have locating pins, which I think are important. I simply ground down the edges of the plates so the block would sit flat across the plate and it worked fine. Regarding ubolts, again I could not find anything aftermarket in a diameter that would work and had the corrct bend to go through the holes in the mounting plates. I went to a spring shop with a stock bolt and they made me a set in about 15 minutes with the correct angle, diameter and length.

I have a quick question . these guys who sell datsun parts , I've read they want the idler box dismantled before you send it to them for core fee returned . now what if you can't open it to do this ? anyone have this problem in the past ? do they work with you on this or ?? if anyone knows . thanks

Does shaving the side markers on a 1969 2L hurt the value of the vehicle later down the road when it comes time to sell? I've always loved the clean lines of my 66 and wondering if I were to shave the front and rear side markers if it would eventually hurt the resell value down the line.....

The 69 has the beautiful sidemarkers. I wouldnt shave them. If they were the '70 markers like my 68 has, then absolutely

Curtis, perhaps you can help me with how my blower is wired on my '67. I labeled the wires that come from the heater box and go to the blower switch when I took it apart three years ago but I did not label the two that come off the blower housing. The wires from the heater housing are blue and blue with white IIRC, while the ones from the blower are one green and one black. It would seem that they get joined and go to the switch together but with different colors that doesn't appear to be the case.

That is what I am asking about. Yes the wires from the heater housing match the wires in the diagram but from the blower I have one green and one black and my question is how are the two wires from the blower housing supposed to tie into the wires from the heater housing?
