Early last month put in a Petronix II ignition and Flamethrower coil (thanks Dbrick). Two weeks ago put in ADQ needles (thanx Keith). Friday had a Monza Duel resonator tip installed, and yesterday, I reset the carbs to align the changes. Although my distributor appears to be at max. adjustment, and still needs to advance one more notch, i just didn't want to deal with it yesterday. Engine idles smooth, acceleration feels good (still in tweak mode) and she sounds so much better- a little throaty on load, and mellow at cruz. I think the added back pressure of the resonator (verses twin 3" megaphone open tips) and the ADQ's, brought the engine to a more balanced condition?
Found that the normal oil spots under the car haven't fixed themselves yet, but that is what old pizza box cardboard is for.

I noticed that Pertronix recently came out w/ the Ignitor II for our distributors. It was not available when I set up my car. I wonder if there is much of a difference vs. the Ignitor I. You may be the 1st amongst us to try it.

The literature mentions something about an added circuit to maintain advance better, and also a word or two about sensing start-up and throwing more juice to the plugs?
I have no way of judging if it is real or hype, but the unit replaced troublesome points, and the hotter coil/spark should offer a more complete burn.
I did notice out of the box, the upgrade provided a much smoother low RPM response, and smoother performance overall. The points it replaced were
slightly pitting to one side, so maybe I wasn't getting all the bang I should have before the change?

What is the part number for our cars? The Pertronix site gives a list of over 300 to sort through.

I recently put Pertronix in my car and was trying to decide between the two models. It says something about the Pertronix II being able to adjust dwell at higher RPM's.

Guys, I bought urethane spring isolators, and they come (2) per pack, so I have 4 total. I noticed that the stock springs only have rubber on the top. Should I only install 2 isolators, both at the top, or install all 4, 2 top and 2 bottom?

Definitely going to lower my car, as the urethane is way thinner than the stock rubber that is cracked and falling apart. Is there a reason NOT to also put them on the bottom?

Well here's what Dean says about his lower ones. I can't tell if they are actually different from the uppers or not.

Ah I see, the lip is essentially removed, which makes the ID of the lower spring isolator larger so that the spring and isolator properly fit into the bucket. Looks like I just need to do some cutting.

Recent Roaster doings:

Adjusted valve lash, checked timing, tweaked carbs.

Removed the steering wheel and centered it since it was clocked a bit after the alignment earlier this year.
Good info in here for all that lurks behind the horn button:

Played with some options for a 3rd brake light. Will post pics later.

Changed the engine oil, trans, and diff fluids.
Found some 80/90 GL 4. Trans seems to like it. Thanks bikermike.
