I put new pilot screws in my mikunis. You would not believe how worn the old ones were. Now I need to retune.

I just picked up mine from a local garage, he did the exhaust and put tires on for me. Great job as usual, he did Ed's 68 exhaust same day. Temp gauge just started to move up after 8 miles, but heater was working OK. Strange driving the car below freezing temps. New Falkens ride NICE.
Shop truck shows what he likes to work on.

This weekend I removed my gas tank and removed the fuel varnish mix (That I did drive on for a short while before pulling my motor). I need to clean it out. I have the POR-15 gas tank kit but haven't applied it yet. Was thinking of getting the tank boiled out first if it can be done for a cheap price here in Orange County.

Before you spend any $ on a treatment, see if you can beg, borrow or steal a bore scope.
I borrowed one from my son and was able to inspect the majority of the tank insides on a little LCD screen.
Saw no rust or residue, just faded metal baffles and such.
So if "varnish" is the only issue, you may be able to clean the tank yourself and not require the POR treatment

Ditched the leather shift boot and fabricated a ferarri style shift plate out of 1/4 inch brass attatched to a new backing plate i made out of mesh patterned aluminum. Sending the brass off to the chromer after testing smooth operation of the shift pattern.

I guess what Kathy and I did is more "for the roadster". Put the tools down, packed the car, and drove to Daytona Fl. to see the grandkids. We have tickets to the duels, truck race, and the big race Sunday. Dave, does the new exhaust fill the bill for Linda? Louder? 74 degrees today, not used to tee shirt in Feb.

It's not what I'm going to do to my car, it's what I'm going to do to Greg's car. Bwaa ha ha. Where's my Telsa coils, we'll light up that new ignition.
