Removed the strips on the floor where the seats are located. After grinding i think we need some more new metal to weld in.

`the back seat` cut out the plate for the roll bar and welded the floor

This is great working, isn't it, car on the side and grinding or sanding.
The cradle works great so, I liked it to, and later on, when you are finished with bonding and sanding you can wax-coat (valvoline) the bottom and wheel spaces into the cradle.

@peter

I am not gonna grind, that's a job for the painter.
Henk is welding al the bad damaged plates, if the bottom where the chairs are connected and the trunk is done there will be still a left rear fender and a new place for the battery

But the craddle sure works!

I had the same problem with the trunk, the braces where disconnected on the welded places and I had some cracks at the trunkfloor.

Cracks at the edges of the scoop there are very common. Has anyone tried welding reinforcements on the backside here??

The 69 hood has a factory doubler (plate) Spot welded on the underside.

there is a reinforcement at the inside of the hood welded in. I take a picture tomorrow to let you see what I mean with the reinforcement..

reinforcement made in the hood? (it was already there).
that's why the bolts did not fit very well in the hinges

They also crack or bubble at the scoop because they are welded there. Factory lead or bondo in that spot.
