BTW, the plastic floats can fail too, a quick shake can rule that out - any sloshing and they are bad.
Are BOTH carbs leaking or just one?

Yep, if just one I am pretty sure it is just junk in the valve. One would think that that is why they made SU's so easy to get to the floats and valve - cause they seem to be so critical to operation yet also so prone to fail! :-)

Thank you for the help. I will try to clean the valves this time. I will see if that fixes the issue, but i will have to wait till sunday.

So today I finally got to fix the carb thanks to notoptoy. It all ended out to be that the float was broken, I had to get the float from the 67. Now the old points my dad installed just failed. I hope I don't have to order one, maybe I can find one on advance auto parts. I think in the pmwiki tech it says I can use 1979
honda civic points.

It's odd that the points would fail so quickly, do you have the correct coil? Do you have the ballast resistor on the firewall? If you are running a 12V coil or without the ballast resistor you can burn up the points. Replace the condenser too.

The points my dad used to test the car were old and brittle. They were so brittle the cable was broken and the spark was jumping all over the place.

Today i took the front brakes that i took from the parts car to get rebuild. Apparently they are going to rebuild them for $60 if they find all the correct seals, hopefully they do. That way i can sell a complete brake set that i have laying around to fund the car.

The shop already finished the right side brakes, they are going to check if the left side can get rebuild. I will post pictures of both calipers as soon as i get them.

It's kind of frustrating having to look at your car and see no progress. I don't think I was financially prepared for all this modification and restoration process. I knew I had a good time in life to do all this, since I'm young and don't have to pay bills. Though it just seems like there is no way that I can find a job, every day I have to cross the border, and there is no way I can work at least 4hrs a day. I know I would of wanted to work in advance auto parts since they are a car based job and I like working with parts. I'm not saying I'm going to give up but I'm just saying that this is going to take more than what I expected. Hopefully god will give me time to find a job, and a good career to fund all the projects I all ways have been wishing with. Like rebuilding a 454 1990 chevy silverado, or building a 600hp turbo 2jzgte supra.
God bless you all.

Sorry, i forgot to post brakes with the new seals. I was not involved in the painting of the calipers. The brake shop decided to do that for free.

Congratulations, how about some video of her running and driving? She really looks great.

Video of the second time it was running to be exact. There was no exhaust on this video that's why it sounds so loud.
There is no video as of now of me driving the car. :(
Ohhh and by the way I'm still working on the interior carpet and heat isolation. :)
