Holy crap! What caused that? Dropped valve seat? Coil bind? Did she give any indication before she blew? I am SOOOO sorry to see that, how very very frustrating.

the seat is missing...so that we think is what started it all. But really who knows. We will ask all the questions and look at all the options, sleeves, rebuild, whatever. Frankly, I had the motor rebuilt thinking I would save myself from this very thing. Funny the irony now. It's just time and money right? More of each before my car is done. It's been the project from hell. Let's just say I'm not pre-registering for Solvang 2015 just yet lol.

I don't know where to find the SR20, let alone the DET that I would prefer. Seriously, are these engines expensive? Where do you buy them? Do you get those rebuilt before going into your car? It just raises more questions for me, questions I haven't explored.

I am scared to find out how much it would cost me to have one swapped into my car. Why, well, it could be affordable, then I'm screwed, or it could not be affordable, then I'm screwed and sad hahahahaha. If the current engine is salvageable, is this fate telling me to swap? I was on the fence at the beginning of the project.

Today I'm just sitting here thinking how I thought I was at the tail end of the HUGE money projects. Going to be at the fine tuning, smaller money projects. But with this, another large money project is unavoidable. I didn't really budget for this quite yet so now I have to really figure it all out.

It's been a long few weeks but we once again are on the road. Yesterday we finished putting the engine back in and testing her out. She is home again and functional. There are small things to do/fix still but on the road. Going to drive her every day to test then if all goes well doing a club fun run Saturday.

I'm planning to go to Williams in October, so fingers crossed we can now focus on the little items to finalize and nothing else major for a while.

We finally went to our first show!! So fun.
We drove from Sacramento, CA to Williams, Az. We left Wednesday morning and drove to Vegas for a short layover. Car drove great. We visited Hoover Dam and of course drove the strip. Friday went to Williams and had a nice leisurely ride.

Friday nights meet and great was very nice. Lots of cars in the parking lot. Loved watching the z group show up all together, very impressive.

A whole batch of us Roadsters did manage to semi gather in the parking lot. After dinner several of us got to chat and exchange some ideas and fun facts.

Saturday was incredible fun. After parking and settling in, I was surprised by the attention my little Esther got. Biggest questions were about the roll bar and the dash.

There were so many stunning cars there. I must admit, it is a blast to go to a show that has multiple models to look at. There was something there for everyone. I met a whole lot of you guys and had a fantastic time. I look forward to returning next year.

We did manage to get Best of Show. We were very surprised and of course appreciative. Leading the parade and knowing our car is up front for the photos is fun.

Multi State is a great event. I look forward to returning next year.

he got the best pics and also in char shows section he has a write up or two.

I share these links because there were tons of awesome cars to see and he did a far better job than myself and my cell phone.

That's a bummer that Ted took them down. If you are going to be in Solvang this weekend, so will my car.

Kelly,
Talk to Steve and see if he can restore your photos that were in the 311s.org gallery.
Here are a few pictures I snapped of your roadster for all to see, from Solvang 2015:
