I have a 6hp 60 gallon compressor and even with that have to let the compressor catch up when sandblasting.

Yes Sid, so you know what I'm talking about. I imagine in a cool, dry climate it would work much better. The gas powered rentals are 20 CFM so less cycling on and off, or recharging while under use. I have a small blast cabinet and the compressor is sufficient for that, but not the large blaster. I guess I could always park the body on the beach for a few years and come back later. Jeff

If you want to reduce the cycle time, you should increase the tank volume. That is the biggest help. The pumps decrease recovery time.

Ah yes, sand blasting... when I did mine 36 years ago I rented a neat little set up that had a vacuum system that was like a canister vacuum cleaner that sucked up the material as you went and made a fraction of the mess. While it was somewhat slower, it allowed me to do the job in my sisters garage without her screaming at me!

The Pininfarina Spider restomod is sold so now it's time to get busy. I disassembled the engine, can anyone translate the markings on the crank? Is this "M/0" or "M10"? Could it possibly stand for "machined .010"? Thanks for your help!

OK, thanks David for confirming that.

Stripped the body today with aircraft stripper. A few dents, dings, and rust holes to repair, but nothing major.

Wow, great progress!

Are you going to do one car completely, and then the other?

Keep it up!

Hi Peter, I'm just going to do one car at a time. I thought about doing both but it would take too long to have one running and driving car. I can't wait that long. Jeff

I think that's the way to go...

I can't go back, but driving a (the) car would have helped keep the enthusiasm going and motivation high.

At the rate you're going, you'll be cruising in no time!

Good on ya.

Ross, thank you for the reply. I'll have to see if I can wait that long. I would like to get started as soon as possible. Jeff

School is in session. You're never too old to learn. I think?
