Good point but I won't be brought over from the dark side.

Okay, let's not fill up Steve's build thread with irrelevant posts. Well, maybe one more:

No policing the thread Pete. I'm sorry, blue is for the outside of the car. That's MY opinion and I'm sticking with it.

So if you have that motor why are you thinking about a stroker?

That looks like Sea Green which I like better than Sora Blue, (which I call Baby Blue).
None of the stock colors really impress me. Heresy I know. I like the car though..

Got to work a bit on the 66 today. I fabricated a rear mount for the sweet looking twin pipe exhaust I got from JT. Taking it in Monday to get the new exhaust installed. Will take some pics when completed. Worked on removing the body bolts. I got all but the six inside the cabin removed. The PO glued the carpet down so I have to peel it up to get to them. The carpet is fairly new so I should be able to reinstall it. I had to take the sawzall to the two in the rear fender well front. Removed all the stuff from the engine bay. As I suspected the crack in the firewall is pretty bad. Will weld it up and then install one of Dave P's brake braces. Also, found a couple of more redneck fixes-a twisted wire holding the brake pedal pin in and a single strand of wire holding the clutch pin on. I will make sure those are fixed when I put it back together.

A couple of pics.

Dave P is making a firewall brace for the single master early cars. There is another thread discussing it. He is pretty close to mass fabrication. Something else for you to buy.

Well, ran into a small snag on the exhaust install. Realized we needed a shorty muffler to put in right behind the cross member and before the axle. He got that ordered and will bet set for next Monday. The best laid plans sometimes do not work out as they should.

You still need two mufflers even with JT's after the axle?

What did he order?

That's why I built this. Ordered the muffler from Demon Tweeks in the UK. Two inch but I had the shop expand the pipe in and out from 1.75 to 2". Muffler is almost exactly the same size as the stock one. Total cost was about $106.

I'm building a second one and I salvaged the pipe off the bullet muffler. $66 for the muffler and a few bucks to have them expand the pipe.

JT's is a resonator twin pipe. You still need a muffler in the mix to take the crackle out. JT's full stainless has a 10" muffler right after the cross member. The exhuast guy found a 12" with the center to offset that we need. Pretty sure he can make that work. The muffler needs the center in to offset out to keep it as close to the frame and axle as possible. Will get some pics when it is done.

I have JT's resonator too and this muffler does not have the offset and clears just fine.

Nice to know you do not necessarily need an offset in the muffler. How long is your muffler?

Finally got my exhaust done this morning so that completes the chassis, engine and tranny. Happy with the end results. He did everything I asked him to do. Flex at the exhaust manifold, O2 bung. I ordered the mufflers mounts-they are for a Peter Built Diesel so figure they are more than adequate for the roadster. Not stainless but should last a long time. Although it looks like the muffler is touching the frame there is no part of the new exhaust touching any part of the frame.
