26° here this morning. Meeting up with Scott at mid-day, when it's supposed to have warmed up to the 50s...
UPDATE
It was 55 whole degrees when Scott and I met this afternoon around 2pm. The shadows were already starting to get long, so we made our way down to the docks for a photo op ....
I feel very fortunate to have Scott pass by our area. He's good company and I hope we cross paths again some day.

Scott has updated his blog as he comes through the mid-Atlantic region.

It feels real good to have had a vicarious drive with you, Scott.
I'm sure I can speak for many others you've met, that we ALL are now riding along...

I plan on doing a story on Scott and his trip for either the next or following copy of ROADSTER. I am fortunate that he lives here in Las Vegas with me so I will have plenty of access to him and his car for the coverage!

It was great meeting Paul; he was a gracious host and a generous tour guide, and I got to drive on some great roads in and around Annapolis. Here's a shot that shows a little more of his car:
I left DC the day before yesterday, and am currently wandering around the hills of West Virginia, where it's unfortunately cold, windy, and overcast. Down to 25 last night, so I think that's a hint that I should start getting more south more quickly.

Scott has made it to Lexington North Carolina, in the central part of state, hopefully not in for too much of this bad weather system headed this way.
His latest travel blog entry covers his tour through my area, including a couple photos taken at the Nissan dealership where he and his car were apparently quite the star, according to what I heard later from the Service Manager, a friend of mine.

Here's another shot from my all-too-brief time during his visit.

Who knows, it might time out okay, I'd give him a call if I were you. He's liable to seek safe harbor somewhere until the storm goes by.
A lot of rain, and depending on his route he otherwise could run right into the main swath.
We were very lucky that it was still warm enough and clear skies when he came through here.
This morning I saw 20° on the outside thermometer.

I'll be on Cape Hattaras through Thursday, then sort of making my way down the coast from there (Wilmington, Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Savannah, etc.) Still kind of making it up as I go along though, I'm pretty flexible.

My Roadster is in Central NC, nowhere near Hatteras. Lots to see on the NC Coast, Hatteras, the outer banks, Kitty Hawk. Depending on where you head south, I'm an hour from Robert in Daytona Beach, and Sid's not too far either we could perhaps arrange a group photo!

The good karma continues, Scott.
You picked a locale that won't get much more than a shower.

Scott,
What an amazing trip!! A good friend of mine did a similar trip back in the 70s with his Roadster, but nothing like your epic journey. It's too bad I was late in discovering what your were doing. I would have offered accomodations and libations to you when you passed through my area. It was also great to see the pix and read the blog when your were NJ. I was born and raised in the Hunterdon County area. And you are right-on about the fact that people in the rest of the US don't have a clue about the beauty of NJ.
Have a safe and trouble free finish to your trip and I hope to meet up with you someday...maybe in Solvang next April!!

ah man, don't generalize. Not everyone is like that.
Can't wait for the next update Scott. Wish you had been able to see more of this part of the country but at least we got to meet and hang out with you when you were here.

Sorry

tjp - didn't mean to lump everyone together...just seems like a lot feel that way.
