That's true, in a race-inspired build, bare surfaces will show and can be painted.

I've done lots of carbon fiber, I'm thinking brushed or gun-metal steel on this one.

The Ratsun crowd should appreciate the efforts!

Hey, at least i knew there was a thread.

Now I know of which holes you speak. And I don't have a clue as to what they are for. Around here we have a technical term for those anomalies. We say "It's a Datsun thing".
As far as the passenger foot rest goes, maybe you could have a fold down one like on airline seats or church pews. Probably be good for breaking ankles in a crash.
If I now read about someone stealing hardware from a church, I'll know what that is about.
