If it's any help, I've flown out there twice from the East Coast for the show. It was much easier and cheaper to fly into LAX and rent a car and drive up there than to fly into Santa Barbara via Phoenix. Car rentals in Santa Barbara are off airport, more expensive, and choices are limited. Overall, the total travel time was just about the same, and you get a nice ride up the coast from LA to Solvang.
Don't forget to book your hotel early also.

When I went to Solvang a few years back, I flew into Las Vegas and rented a car from there. Got into a bit of entertainment before and after the show.
The car rental was cheaper for a week than just for a few days.
The route through Bakersfield to get to the coast was pretty interesting and fairly traffic free.
Was able to take in more of the different landscapes rather than lots of city freeways.

In my opinion, better airport is Burbank. In and out of there in 30 minutes. LAX can be a nightmare and you have to go thru traffic on your way up north either via 101 or PCH. You will get to Solvang faster and will miss some traffic on the way back also. You can take the 101 or 118 up, plenty of nice scenery.
Southwest flies in from many cities.

Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

I don't know if I will be towing or driving the Roadster this year, but if you fly into Vegas you can catch a ride with me. I know at least 3 of us going from the Las Vegas area this year. This will be my first.

We flew into LAX, found a better deal on the rental car and airfare. Met up with everyone at the bowling alley. Seemed like an easy trip, Friday late morning, but never having been to LA before, nothing to compare it to. Burbank looks like a nice trip

If you've seen the opening credits of The Sopranos, that's where I usually drive, so LA was easy :D

There are lots of places to camp, this one is walking distance from the usual Friday Night gathering. (I am not sure about the gathering this year).

Does anyone know what's planned for Friday Night?
