Re: I finally found my first Roadster in Melbourne
Very good! stupid question time. Why is that engine set up for an intake side alternator. I thought they were all on the distributor side down under. Am I mistaken?

I got solex carbs - for all of my Roadsters. I wonder why Nissan didn't keep your alternator on the distributor side?

Re: I finally found my first Roadster in Melbourne
I'll drop an idea into the mix...What about keeping the Skyline transmission in the car and just holding onto the Roadster box as an original spare part? The OD ratio is nice, and nothing like a modern 5 speed. If it wasn't half a world away, I'd try to work a deal with you for the wheels and the skyline transmission. As it is, you may be able to swap either the roadster or Skyline trans for a good chunk of the Superlites cost. Car looks great, really like the color.

Re: I finally found my first Roadster in Melbourne
Just checked a pic of a mates car and the alternator is on the right. Not sure why it was set up that way.spl310 wrote:I wonder why Nissan didn't keep your alternator on the distributor side?
Your right the skyline box is good. I can sit on 120kmh in low revs but I want to go original all the way so I will be using the 2000 box.
I am not sure if I have the original alternator. How do I tell and is there a better lighter option that looks similar?
The blue is a BMW color.

Re: I finally found my first Roadster in Melbourne
Yes I will sell the H20 and box but not the extractors. May already have a taker on the box. Let me know if your interested.
I'm not at the Nats as I spent all my $$ on the motor and box. Next year with the U20 all things going well.
Are you down at the Nats?

Hello Matt,
Nice to see you here. Thanks for all your advice yesterday. Much appreciated. Took your other advice and joined the club today too. Must say that I really like your car, especially the colour.

Re: I finally found my first Roadster in Melbourne
Perhaps should not say so in here, but am really interested in the Queensland one.
Love those wheels. I think they look great on roadsters.

Re: I finally found my first Roadster in Melbourne
At least in the USA, headrests were not standard until 1968 I think. I believe they were an option for 67.5 and not available before that. Someone will correct me if I am wrong!

The head rests were optional on the 68. I bought mine from Stan at http://www.fairladyproducts.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;kiwi-red wrote:are head rest's standard? I don't have any, and I don't

The NSW club sells the eyelets for the seat. The post holes are under the fabric.
