putting out the question to gauge interest in a meet over Memorial Weekend either in Eureka Springs, AR (called Little Switzerland)
Branson, MO (lots of motels for cheap rates and fun things for the entire family)
or my hometown of Harrison, AR which is about 30 to 45 miles away from either of the above. (great mountain roads to run is our claim to fame)
and there is camping available if you wanted to do that.
the owners of the Nissan dealership here in town also owns two or three motels and i can get a good rate for everyone there for sure. and if you wanted to have a car show, they would be agreeable to host that as well. (and probably offer a hamburger or hotdog for a free meal)
this could turn into a major meet, as Branson Z Fest now has over a hundred cars each year for their meet held in the spring, and it now goes four days, with lots of folks just enjoying each other and the cars that show up each year.
from the Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas,Mississippi,Tennessee, and Arkansas owners, i think its possible to get at least 10 to 20 roadsters together.
i would contact the motel, dealership to put a car show together, and resturant for one meal together before we all go back home. and we could also have a swap meet if anyone wanted to bring extra parts to sell or trade.
and i could put together a poker run, or just a cruise for a half day or entire day if you really want to run some great roads.
and if i left any of you out from other states, that may be interested in a meet, your more than welcome to come. i am offering to put this together, if the interest is there. it may be too late for this Memorial Weekend, but if we do have something deffinite each year same time, same place, it could be lots of fun. we are five hours from Memphis, Tulsa,Kansas City,St. Louis, Jackson, MS or Shreveport,LA. come in on Friday night or Saturday, have the show late that day, do a fun run on Sunday, and have Monday to head back home. what do you think guys????????? if i get at least five people committed to coming i will put this together, and we can grow it from there.
how about a meet Memorial Weekend?

I wish I lived closer, that sounds like fun. Love Arkansas
Memorial weekend might be tough for some people. Otherwise if I were you I'd plan something small, around Harrison, with camping and motel options. Plan a fun run or possible run up to Branson, obligatory BBQ, and then post details every few weeks....map, directions, weather, pics, how many might be able to show up, etc. etc. Gotta build the enthusiasm ya know. And repetition is key for those who check in infrequently, so bump the thread. Is the Branson Z show at the same time?

Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

Cool idea. A little too far for me too. But I did stay in Yellville AR for a couple weeks a long time ago. Lol. Ever heard of it?

Re: how about a meet Memorial Weekend?
since no one has committed to coming, either that weekend won't work, or there is no interest in getting together. and its early yet, some folks don't get on here every day like i do.Linda wrote:I wish I lived closer, that sounds like fun. Love Arkansas

the dates are not set in stone, just trying to make it a three day weekend without costing people time off from work. we can have it whenever, i just want people to show and have fun. since it takes at least five hours for most of you to drive in, it wouldn't leave much time to do anything if we had it for just a Saturday and Sunday meet. but i base that on my thinking that i wouldn't drive all night Friday night after working all day just to go meet roadster owners. anyone ????????????

Like Linda, I'm too far out!
But, if you add a local attraction or event in conjunction - like a festival, or famous place/event that might also make it interesting to a significant other and increase the interest factor.
Give it some time too!
