My screen name has always been “DatsunBucky (to show how I felt about Datsuns), and with the purchase of Will’s 67.5 1600, I am now the proud owner of another roadster.
Will, it was great to stand around and shoot the bull with you Wednesday. I really hope you didn’t get in trouble at work. Thanks. If/when you find the grill, e-mail me and I’ll send you my home address.
As I was bringing the car back to Salt Lake, I kept looking in the rearview mirror of the truck, and just seeing that smiling “face looking back at me gave me a good feeling. It just looked so “right with the grill opening and headlights. It’s hard to describe it.
Now I have to determine what direction to go in. On the one hand I would love to have a streetable roadster, and go to events like Solvang and Mt. Shasta. Not to mention drives in the mountains on a nice day.
On the other, I would love to make an autocross car again. There are so few around anymore, that nobody remembers them, let alone how they can be made to go fast. Plus, since it has been so long since I’ve driven in competition (since 1978), I can run “Novice. heh heh heh
Anyway, having two cars are out of the picture at this time, seeing as how I had to trade in my 2001 Lexus GS430

I will be taking pictures to document the renewal, but it is going to be a long process. I figure probably a couple of years.
Steve, I’ll keep track (pictorially) of what is going on and write an article or two about the work. Please add SPL 14284 to the registry as belonging to Bucky MacConaghy, if you would.
