Datsun 510 voltage drop regulator

Post by zippy67roadster »

I just recently was given the part # for the 510 voltage drop regulator that works as a replacement for the stock one located under the dash. This is the one that is for the gauges, not the charging system. The problem is that none of the local Nissan dealers(all 4 of them) have it and they all list it as on "back order". They can't tell me when or if they will get it in. I had the same problem with locating the speedo pinion gear. I finally found a dealership back east that had a couple. Now to the point of this post. Can anyone help me a out and call their local dealer to see if they have one in stock? I think it is ridiculous that the dealers aren't all on a shared database for parts! I will pay for the part, shipping and a couple bucks for gas to pick it up and drive to the post office to ship. Thanks for the help!

Zippy,

just called my parts guy. They are on back order. He said you should go ahead and place an order. Sometimes it takes couple weeks to receive. One out of 100 items are just dropped altogether cause of old product.

The dealer called this morning and stated that it would be in next week. I thought that it may be indefinately on back order but it only took a couple weeks! Thanks for the help and offers.

Ordered one on wednesday and got it this morning. Over night. Don't see why the product won't work.
