Another hello from Socal
Hi everyone,
I'm a long time roadster owner who's been browsing the forum for the last several months. I've really enjoyed all the great information and have learned a lot from all of you.
I've owned two roadsters over the years and purchased the one I currently have way back in 1980. It's SRL #00061 and I'm in the process of doing a major refresh and would like to get it back on the road by next spring (loud laughter from those who know me). I have a just rebuilt motor sitting in the corner of the garage, the interior completely removed, pretty much all of the required parts lovingly collected, so all I need now is a little motivation and lots of time (more laughter).
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to participating on the forum and meeting some of you.
Mike

Re: Another hello from Socal
Welcome aboard. We need pictures to prove it exists! Great low-number roadster, is the motor original to the car?
"When all else fails, force prevails!" Ummm, we're gonna need a bigger hammer here.

Re: Another hello from Socal
Thanks for the welcome. The car is apart now, but I will get some older pictures to post. The motor is original to the car, with the unfortunate exception of the block, so it is no longer numbers matching. A rod bolt failed back in about 1985 and put a nice hole in the side of the original block. When I bought the car, goodies included: solex, racer brown cam, slover head, balanced, blueprinted, arias pistons, aluminum pan, comp suspension, konis, 4.62 lsd. It was a blast to drive, spent most of its time above 4,000 rpms, with a working redline at 8,000 and I had the tickets to prove it, unfortunately.

Hi Mike,
Welcome. There are quite a few Roadster owners in the LA area. If you make it to the Supercar Sunday informal show in Woodland Hills on every Sunday,http://www.supercarsunday.com/, you will usually see a few cars there.

Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.

Re: Another hello from Socal
So here are a few pictures. The first one is Frank Honsowetz at Riverside, turn six about 1978 or 1979. I purchased the car from him in 1980 and over a couple of years turned it back into a street car. It was actually my daily driver during the mid 1980's.
The second picture was taken about 1995.
Now it looks somewhat different what with the engine bay and the interior empty...
