Really neat, but the pre-registration dates for the listed events has already past! :-(
This looks like tons of fun!

I'm just going to watch - local hotels are about $50 if you mention Buttonwillow

Racing Lemons is pretty fun. Its good racing and not a destruction derby. My team isn't racing Buttonwillow however we will be running both Sears Point races and Thunderhill races.

Some friends and I recently signed up for the ChumpCar event in Calgary in May 2011. I think the hardest part of this is getting a $500 car. There just aren't as many cars here as there are in the US so the selection of viable $500 cars is pretty low relatively speaking. We've been looking for about a month now - nothing yet.

I actually found two datsun roadsters and three 510s in the search. The roadsters are crap and the guy wants $1200 each so that is out. The 510s are $300 each but have been sitting in a farmer's field for longer than I care to ask so rebuilding a 510 from scratch doesn't make sense (although I sense a major project pending for other purposes).

I happened to get a couple of photos of one of the cars early this month at SEMA.

What did that start life as? It's neat that they want it to look like and old Dodge/Chrysler - Maybe it's supposed to be Christine?

I forget the specifics, but I do recall it's a BMW.

It's literally impossible to "see" all of SEMA, so while I have pictures and information on a ton of stuff, you literally are moving FAST and you still cannot see it all. They say there are over 26 MILES of exhibition booths, I certainly cannot disprove that claim as in the 3 days we walked endlessly. I suppose you could "see" it all, but you wouldn't have stopped to do anything.

If you want a car, I've got a 1987 toyota corolla 4-door hatchback. It runs. $500. No joke.
