Houston TDROC BBQ @ my place

Post by jamesw »

Hi gang,

Well cooler weather is finally upon us (and no hurricanes yet, fingers crossed!). I'd like to invite everyone over to my place for a BBQ on October 9th at 5pm (ish).

I live in the Heights, which is central for just about every roadster owner in the area (Kingwood, Katy, Pearland, Conroe).

My roadster is all put back together and I sure hope to have her running by then - but even if you don't have a running roadster, please come on by to swap stories (There was this one time I drove my roadster from Berkeley to Lake Tahoe...) etc.

I'll provide meat and beer - please bring a side dish if there's anything in particular you like.

If you can make it please respond here - I'll send everyone a msg with the address.

Cheers
James

Hi James,
Don't forget to bump this thread a few times as it might get missed by folks who don't check in too often.
Sounds like fun, a Texas BBQ. Yeehaw!

James...FYI, I also invited Barbara (who is in Memorial). However, she will be out of town for the weekend.

She has 2 roadsters (one low windshield & high windshield), 2 Bluebird Wagons, 1 Bluebird Sedan and an L320 truck!

Thanks for doing that Dan. Too bad she won't be around - it sounds like she has an impressive collection!

Will do Rick,

Some good news on my end is that my car is running! So I can at least get it out of the garage for a few pix :-)

Also: spotted at Coffee and Cars on Saturday (by a friend) was this car:

Way to represent the Datsun brand! Need to give those corvette owners something to think about.

Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder about the BBQ at my place tomorrow: so far I have confirmed:

Dan Z + 1
Bwana +1
It's a Datsun (+1???)
I'm still hoping to hear back from Lowdown in Friendswood - I hope he can make it.

And all others welcome!

The get-together starts at 5 pm and I'm hoping to do a photoshoot between 6 and 7 when the light is good :-)

If you need directions still, shoot me an email or a PM. My address is reefpix at geeeeeemmmmaiilllll.com

Cheers

What a great time - and thanks to everybody that made it out. A perfect evening for a BBQ - and I needed the inspiration to keep my project going at a strong pace :-)

Here are a few photos

Of course - I waited until after dinner to get the photos and it was pretty dark :-/ Also you may notice that one car is featured more prominently in the photo than others - hehe - couldn't help it! The other two cars were absolutely GORGEOUS - and look at the subtle differences. Pretty cool - very personalized.

Cheers

A nice showing indeed, but the real question...how was the food?! :-)

I'll bet if you would have taken a pic of the FOOD, you would have 5 times as many people next time!
Looks like a nice group of Roadster pals :)
