Hey John,
Definitely go to the picnic, several roadsters will be there.
We will try to do a fun run soon as well,
David Premo has an absolutely stunning(and fast!) 67.5 SRL that he always brings out to drive

Hello there, I live in Grass Valley (An hour north of Sac and few minutes from Penn Valley) I've seen that 68 on CL in Penn Valley. I'd be happy to go take a look at it for you if your interested in it. Or any roadster in my area for that matter.

Thanks Jared.

I've seen that he posted that up for awhile now on CL. It went down to $1200 and back up to $1400. From the pics, its pretty rough though. Thank you for the offer and will keep you in mind if theres anything in your neck of the woods.

Really? I saw that and was wondering if it was too much of a project for a noob. How hard are clutches to replace?

Replacing the clutch involves removing the engine. Not a good place to start for a NOOB if you don't have extensive mechanical skills, or a large wallet to pay and get it done.
This is also a perfect breeding ground for "While I'm there syndrome".
It could be a place to start if you want this type of project, or if you don't want to drive the car right away.
If you are looking for a driver that needs minimal work and provides maximum driving enjoyment from day one, keep looking.
As far as a good project and a solid car to start with, this does look like a decent candidate from the pictures, although an in-person visit or evaluation by a pro would be warranted.
"When all else fails, force prevails!" Ummm, we're gonna need a bigger hammer here.

Oops, was scanning too fast and didn't see the clutch part, just the interior TLC that it needed. Nevermind, I'll keep scanning.

Is it just me or did anyone else notice that the engine wasn't a U20?
