Time to step forward I guess....

I am in the final stages of getting my 67 1600 completed. It was in pretty rough shape when I got it about a year ago after sitting outside with the top down for at least 4 years in New Hampshire. It sure looks much better now.

Some of you guys have helped me with parts during my journey and obviously, with the forum and Wiki, its been a great learning experience.

I am not much for documenting progress on my projects, but I tried with this one and got some posted at http://s216.photobucket.com/albums/cc56/smlibanker/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. The album shows progress and starting point but not a lot of details. If this link does not work, let me know and I will try again.

Right now, I am rebuilding the seats. Everything is pretty much almost done except this, the motor, some odds and ends (and a top). DBrick has a 5 main 1600 I need to go grab when I get spare time, but for now, I am having my 3 main from my parts car freshened up and that should be ready end of the week. Then, maybe I can be one of the very few in this area to take this puppy for a ride. I have never seen one on the road in my neck of the woods, ever.

I am in need of several small items and will be posting on the wanted list shortly to see if you fellas can help out a hillbilly from New Hampshire. So far, I have done every ounce of work on this rig except the motor machining. I bent the floor pans as they were shot, did all the welding, body work, paint, wiring, etc. I also posted a photo of my other pride a joy, my 1930 Model A Ford Closed Cab Pickup. Nice rig that I also did the entire resto on about 8 years ago and the neat thing with this one is that my great, grandfather owned this in the early 50s and it left the family, but I brought it back into the family and restored it!! Priceless.... It had not been touched in 27 years and was in pretty rough shape too.

Thanks for all the help and keep me in mind for one of those "easy" western coast restores. I am almost ready to start another one and my other parts car is too far gone.

You're a brave man - taking on that project from the woods! Very organized too, judging by the tools hanging on the rack in that pic of Pop Pop. Congratulations - ya done good!

It really looks nice, I'd like to see the paint in the sunlight, great color!
Nice work all around, is that an attached garage or an outbuilding? It's great that you can paint in there!

It's a detached garage and a nice place to work for me. I did things right when I built this house but only with a very understanding family. We built the two story garage with full bath, kitchen and radiant heat and lived there for about a year while we built our house (two kids too). It was hell but now makes a use-able shop for me now. She has an attached garage that currently houses my parts car and the garden tractor that must be vacated before snow flies, I am told. Now, she (my wife) is not available!!! One in a million, that's for sure.

It's far from organized, but I keep trying to improve the shop as often as I can. I spend a lot of time in there...

I'll post more as progress continues. I suspect when I fire things up, I'll need lots of help to tune it just right and get everything working well.

I did sign up for the DRONE club but have not connected with anyone yet. When I get it running, I look forward to meeting up with the DRONE club members.
