Completed U20 EFI conversion

Apparently Internet Explorer will not load the pics (Firefox will), so I used a different method so you can see them in post 12 below if they don't load here.

In case you missed his link at the bottom of the original post here... he posted the link at the very bottom of his message, under his signature. Go to the link , look to the left side of the photo page, and you see the EFI conversion. Looks pretty cool!

Hey, Gary, that's awesome. That's exactly how I envisioned doing a cold air intake for my Solexes. So, what are the connections going into the intake manifold ports? Is it a A/F probe? That looks sweet. How does it run? You dyno'd it yet?

I don't know why the pictures aren't loading on yous guys computers. They're loading just fine on mine. You must need a smarter computer :P
Skyman wrote:So, what are the connections going into the intake manifold ports? Is it a A/F probe?
The connections going into the intake manifold ports are providing a signal to the MAP sensor. I had to get creative to calm the signal down by putting a can inline, I made from a 6 oz tomato paste can and soldered hose barbs in each end. It was fun getting the tomato paste out through a 1/8" hole. :smt104

It runs well but I still have some tuning to do. I'm running Megasquirt for engine management, which is DIY tuning. I'm 90% complete tuning the fuel table, even got some good data logging up to 8000 rpm, and it is pulling much stronger at those high rpms than it did with 45 mm carbs. After finishing the fuel table I have to tune acceleration enrichment and cold enrichment. I haven't dyno'd it yet because I can do 90% of the tuning by driving and datalogging (and some autotuning).

Looks great Gary! Your cold air intake set up is almost exactly the same as mine, only I have to make a much bigger box to run the velocity stacks I have. Looking forward to redoing the box when I get short stacks. Nice work.

Thanks Greg. I had to use shorty air horns because the long ones from the carbs were too long to fit in the new box.

Thanks Tim. Regarding a kit, I'm not going there. :smt082 What I did combined many, many different components from many different sources, and lots of custom fabrication.
