as i have said before i am not a purest so bare with me, will 13" steel wheels fit on a 1970 datsun 1600 with factory disc brakes on the front?
i realize the offset matters and such but did the earlier cars have 13" wheels maybe and someone ran them on a car with disc brakes....
ignore my ignorance please

Re: ignore my ignorance please
The early cars ran 13" wheels because they were 4 wheel drum brake cars (1500s ). The larger diameter of the disc setup required the move to 14" wheels. Now, if you modify things (turn down the rotor, cut down on the casting of the caliper and slot the mounts), you may be able to get 13" wheels on - at least one racer did, but it was a tremendous amount of work plus he had monster huge flares with the wheels offset out quite a bit. The current trend seems to be bigger and bigger diameters. Why the urge to buck the trend?

i was going to run 1966 toyota corona wheels. they are steel wheels with dog dish caps but instead of 10 or so holes outside the perimeter they are smooth solid steel wheels.
still look stock but just a touch differnt. i figured the disc brakes would be a problem though...

Looks very sedan. Some of the early 60s Datsun sedans used a wheel very similar. It was basically the 1500 wheel with nibs for the dog bowl hubcaps. Not my idea of a cool look for a sporty car. I like the stock 1500 hubcaps, and I like the stock Roadster wheels. The Allied wheel that I posted looks good too. That being said, with disc brakes I want cooling holes. To each their own though!
