RE-zinc Parts Question
I have had several items re-chromed but I am not sure where to take parts for re-zincing. Rather than look stupid going back to the chrome shop I thought I would ask you guys where you have gone to have parts re-zinc'd. I don't mind looking foolish or showing my ignorance on this forum, i've done it serveral times before without severe disfigurement. Thanks.

I wish that I could help on where, but don't have a clue. I can tell you that some parts should have silver zinc, but often get the gold finish when redone. Mostly parts on early cars...

Zinc plating is very common and most industrial platters offer this coating. Comes in clear and gold/yellow. Look in the yellow pages under plating. Depending where you are or if you have connections, they should do a batch of parts for 1 lot charge, around 45.00. You will want to clean the part completely before dropping them off.
Where are you?

I live in Olathe KS which is just outside of Kansas City proper. Thanks for the advice. I'll check the phone book under plating.
