Will it ever end, (or run for that matter?)

Post by SLOroadster »

So after 3 months of frustration, I am again frustrated. First it was getting the pistons, got those, then the harmonic balancer needed to be replaced, found a different one, then the piston rings were wrong (factory screwed up) then it was a missing bottom waterpump stud, found temporary solution. Got the engine in the car, went to hook up the transmission crossmember only to have 3 bolts strip out on me. Re-tapped the threads an got new bolts. I thought it was ready to go...... Hooked up the wireing, installed the radiator, filled everything up, and..... no spark from the distributor  . Fiddled and futzed with that, got spark and it ran for about 30 seconds until the replacement harmonic balancer selfdistructed. :( :x     Will it ever end? I just want my car back. The summer is gone, and I havent had it for a single day of it.

Sorry, I find modern engine swaps revolting. Keep your G, R, or U series in your Roadster!

I know your pain (or part of it at least). I'm having my car worked on. The guy has had it since November and the project is going slow. I was hoping to have it for the summer, but like you said - its almost gone. Not sure when I'll get it back.
