got my Christmas early

Post by sleepyzzz »

well,,,,,,,,,,, Christmas, birthday, anniversary,,,,,,,,,,, for the next umpteen years according to the wife.

new Pannasports 15 X 6 with Goodyear Eagle GT 195/60R15 all season tires. i took the 205s which were on the car when i bought it, and put them on my 260Z. i had problems with the old tires rubbing the inner rear fenderwell. the wheel gap on the front fender is not working for me, and one day soon, i will have to install a set of lowering springs. i guess that i will be offering either the Z wheels with two tires in fair shape, or the ones now on my Z that i took off my roadster for sale. the tires on those wheels are all fair, and could be run for awhile before needing a new set.

the wheels and lug nuts came from Dean at Datsun Parts. he has prices listed on the web site. purchased the tires locally. they were around five. wheel alignment included.

15s are now the way to go. There are pretty much no good 14 inch tires now. I wish there were more 14 inch tires, but our bigger is better society has voted that 14s are now too small. The wheels look good. Nice work.

It's a pain if you want classic style wheels, I haven't found 15's with the right 4 bolt pattern, so I'm forced to use 14 and probably 2 different tires for the car, skinny 175's for the front and 225+ for the rear. I'll just keep watching Ebay.

hate to say it, but there were not alot of choices on 15" tires to tell you the truth. well,,,,, with Goodyear anyway. i was trying to throw some business to a friend of mine, who owns the local Goodyear store, and didn't even shop other brands, or check prices.

thank you for the compliment Will.

I like the look/stance the 14's provide. Thought there were still decent offerings from Yokohama and Falken. Haven't touched Goodyear cost-more-perform-less tires in ages.

I'm not a big Goodyear fan either. The Falkens are nice, I just can't find anything avail. in a 175/65-14 and a 225 or 235/50-14. The 64 has stock wheelwells on the front and the big flares on the back. I was planning on 5 slots, as Libras either aren't avail or weren't made in the larger widths.

So are all the vendors pushing the new casting Panasports?

What offset?

Those are some beefy sidewalls!

thanks Alvin, not sure on the offset, Dean just lists these with the "correct offset, no need for spacers". which is what i wanted. the center caps snapped right in, and fit over the hubs with no problems.
