North Bay Fall run? Anyone interested?

Post by SLOroadster »

Anyone up for a fall run through the North Bay? I have a good route thought out, haven't run it yet, but it should be fine for all cars. Just tossing the idea out at this point.

Will what month/day are thinking about?
Where in the North Bay?

I wanted to get all of the BADROC folks out for a run, so let's work on a date I can round some roadsters up.

I'm free after the Nov. 7 weekend.

How about weather permitting Nov 14/15? I know of a few good roads to run up here, low traffic, and good scenery. I was thinking of going out highway 12 toward Lake Beriessa, then back through Pope Valley over Ink Grade and back to St Helena or Calistoga or something. If that isn't enough we could throw Oakville Grade in and go up over Trinity to Sonoma, or over Mt Vider and back to Napa, or down Dry Creek and back to Napa. It would be a pretty good run.

I'm interested. I live in Fremont and love the Napa, Calistoga, Sonoma area.

Only problem is wine capacity in these cars is limmited. I might have to switch trunk lids to the one with the luggage rack (even though the paint doesn't match).

Datster!

Will,
I still have not contacted Fred Katz, Todd Osborn, Matt Jacquet, ZCG crew etc.
I'll ping the roadster list, then send out some e-mails.

If I'm not working, I'll be down for a run. Unfortunately, I probably won't know until the last minute. You guys driving thru Fremont on 880 near Mission Blvd can see where I'm working. It's the place lit up like a stadium at night! Work is going almost 24/7 right now.

Mark,

I live in Warm Springs. I can see the lights and hear the heavy equipment from my bedroom at night (all night). What the heck are you building down there?

I hope you can make this run.

My wife wants to know if any spouses or significant others are joining in or if this is just a man thing. She is up for it as long as she is not the only one.

Ok, now we have something going. What time would you like to meet? If you guys want to meet early before breakfast, I know a good spot for breakfast, plus its easy to find. Otherwise, I'll find an easy access large parking lot near 29.

Will,

Name a place and time and I will do my best to be there.

Is JuanitaJuanita still in business on Arnold in Sonoma? It's been a while but I remember the food there was really great. http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=n ... ita+sonoma

It doesn't look like they do breakfast but maybe a place to end up at.

Solyndra is building a new solar panel manufacturing fab. Sorry to say but it will be like that for another 6 months. If I can make it, I'm pretty sure the wife will go, but my schedule is changing almost hour by hour it seems.

I'm interested and will try to keep the weekend of the 14th free. Hope the weather continues to cooperate. Mid-70s today in San Jose and it's projected to touch 80s early this week. All this in November.... I love NorCal weather!

Will/Rich: I live off 880/Stevenson and pass that construction site everyday. I'm amazed at how much work is being done 24/7 and saw an impressive image a couple weeks ago on the commute home. There were 5-7 cement trucks plumbed to what looked like 3 stories high and then angled back downwards to dump cement/concrete to a "deep" part of whatever needed to be filled. To me, it looked like a huge herd of giant mechanical "giraffes" gathering around our urban Serengeti watering hole....Very cool!

That will be a common sight until January. The concrete they are now pumping is just for the underslab, and it's only 1/3 done if that! :o Next I put my plumbing in, then backfill, then the finished slab. That's a lotta concrete my friends. After the steel starts going in, then I get to put my large bore stainless pipe for the process systems in. Sorry for the jack Will, I'm just pumped as I have never been in charge (labor end) of a project this large in scope. :)
