Drag DR20 15x7 +0 offset. looks awesome!

Post by Tomakze »

pics of the wheels and the horrible bondo that flew off when i flared the fenders... maybe the wheels will be so eye catching, people wont notice the fenders?

wheels are 15x7 Drag DR20 with a +0 offset. the centers of the wheels have to be enlarged so they will go over the front hubs... along with giving the fenders a little "persuasion". definitely not a bolt and go setup... it looks good though, and handles GREAT! i dont use brakes when cornering anymore. I cant pass up the opportunity for some g-forces! it always drove like a go-kart, but now even more so!

oh well, it was always a 20ft'er anyway. :smt112

I posted this in one of the discussion i was having about my upcoming body transfer too, but i felt this belonged in the tire and wheel section for some reason... hummm.

well, what do you all think! i believe i am the only one with these wheels. at least ive never seen anouther. probably because they don't fit. most people would feel awful taking a dremel to brand new wheels. so would i, but when the guy at Discount Tire says "you cant return them now" you get creative. and for the record, they fit just fine now.

There is a guy in socal (69ner I think) that I met at Solvang that has these, but are the real deal Work 03's. He had someone with contacts make his set with the PERFECT offset/stagger so no fender work was needed. Now, according to him it did take quite a while to get them and I'm sure they were not cheap, but damn, are they sweet. Not taking anything away from yours, they look great also. Too bad about the shoddy body repairs. Here is a link to a pic of his. http://higenki.com/socalroc/pics/1549.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;"

With Drag wheels, probably.
With real, authentic Works, no.

Yes, that's a 225 tire in back.

The JDM wheel gods frown upon you, but I give you kudos for good taste. Drag/rota/R-1 make some fantastic knock-off wheels that are affordable.

lol, my apologies to the JDM wheel gods, but this broke the bank plenty as is. 8) thanks though! it really changed everything about the car. it handles better, drives better, and looks killer. (at least in my opinion!) plus ive always wanted gold wheels for some reason. :|

as a side note, how did he fit a 225 tire in the back without modifying the fender well? it looks like he rolled the lip, but i don't see anything other than that!

Props to making a Zero offset wheel "fit"! Now is a killer opportunity to put some fender flares up front:

Flares would solve the Bondo issue, and wouldn't look half bad in black on that car, so save the paint $$.

It appears that you pulled your fenders quite a bit more than necessary.

On a side note, I'm interested in seeing where those flares came from too Alvin!

im guessing he isnt using a +0 offset wheel. i have just enough room to put my hand between the fender and the wheel. i doubt he has much room... i figured it was better to have too much, i dont like rubs!

also, i have seen several cars that have a front lip like the one in the picture... where can i get one of those? or are they even still available? i love the way it looks.

Hmmmmm I have rear fenders that look like that. I used a 4" dia glasspack and 225s to roll my fenders out however. After I was done with the glasspack, I had to make some final adjustments with a 5lb sledge (you'd never know however  )

I kinda dig your paint job. Its unique, and doesn't look bad. I paint it with the same scheme but with real paint.

The wheels look good.
