Flast dash in a 69

Post by zoomzoom »

Has anyone converted a 2000 with the curvy dash to the 67.5 flat dash?

What would this require (besides a 67.5 dash, of course). I'm going to be using aftermarket gauges and custom wiring, so I'm just wondering about the metalwork...

Yes, it has been done before. I saw one but cannot recall where. Maybe Solvang a couple of years back. Since I have never actually done it I will take a guess. It should not be too difficult. I would say you would be best off removing the original metal backing for the dash. Trial fitting the new dash and fabriate some mounting brackets so you can bolt the flat dash in place. After that the rest should just fall in place. The flat dashes are pretty sweet looking. Of course I am a little biased as all my roadsters are/were falt dashed.

There are couple of pictures that show the interior better from last years Shasta show but I don't know if they're still on line or not.

There are 2 cars in Fresno that the owners have converted their late model Roadsters to a Flat Dash. Basically you just have to Weld a top piece either from an early car or a homemade metal along the top so the Front flat dash can Bolt up!! It looks to be pretty simple and straight forward.
