door hinges

Post by doobop101 »

I have a 69 2000
I am clueless as to how the pin on the door hinge comes out.
I had one shear off tonight ,,is it threaded? or do I punch it out?
TIA

I have not pulled one apart, but have some that the pin was not fully seated. It is serrated on one end, so they are press fit. The issue would be finding a suitable replacement pin. Finding a decent replacement hinge should not be too bad. I have given them away in the past, but don't have any spares lying about that I know of.

the hinge itself is in good condition, just the pin broke. Partstill in the the upper part of the door jam part of hinge and part on the door side of the hinge.. I have both parts out and thought maybe I could save the hinge if I could get the pieces of the pin out

door hinge pins

I am pretty sure you can match the pin to one from a newer non-datsun vehicle. Might have to do a little machining. If you come up with a solution I would be very interested in knowing what you did. I am sure others would be interested as well. I hate loose door hinges. I will do a little research as well. If I come up with any info I will let you know.
