New Guy from Washington State

Post by mirage4g93 »

My name is Mike. I'm from Spokane, WA and I joined after finding a 65 Fairlady roadster for sale on Craigslist. I was originally looking for a 510 but when I seen this come up I had to jump on it. I have always liked these little roadsters since I first saw one around town a few years back. This one definitely needs some TLC but from talking with the current owner he said all that is needed to get it running is a new set of carbs. He has all the original papers and parts as well. I'm excited to get into it and start restoring it.

Here is a picture from the ad since I have to pick it up still.

Welcome to the forum, Mike. You'll find plenty of people here who can help you out with just about anything you can imagine.

One thing about your car, it actually looks like it may be a '66 and not a '65. On the '65, I don't believe the trim extended the full length of the front fender (but I may be wrong). Either way, it looks like a good start.

You're right. That was a typo on my end. I didn't proofread before I submitted.

I've only been on here for about a day and I have already learned a ton! Great forum and great info.

I've slowly made my way through my roadsters to one that I have wanted for a long time. I started with a 2002 Mazda Miata SE, then went to a 2000 Honda S2000 and now on to this. Hopefully Ican restore it to its prior glory. :D

Welcome! Tough to tell from the photos on the Craigslist ad, but from what I can see it is a 65 - 67 1600. If the front fender trim goes to the headlight, then it is a 65 1500. Either way, welcome to the fray!

Hi Mike,
Welcome to the forum. Great to hear your enthusiasm for your new project!
There are quite a few members in WA. You can go to the 'Members" link and find the ones in your area. Also the "Club" link may be helpful.
You can also have a BBQ and that will bring out the experts!

Good luck,
Linda
Sadly-Linda has passed away 2022. She was the 311's den mother and drove the first Rare-Parts ball joint project. RIP.
