I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Jeremy and just purchased (as of last Thursday) a 1964 Datsun Roadster that was located in Pendleton and had been sitting forlorn outside uncovered for a number of years. Most of the bodywork is there, half of the locks are missing, a non-OEM ignition switch installed, half-hearted negative-ground conversion, etc etc. She should be a fun project.
Yes, Congratulations! The car doesn't look in too bad of shape....
It looks like a 1600 aluminum head tho.... Does the block have the big "1500" on the passenger side?
I swear, 1500's are falling from the sky this year! Looks like a good start.

SPL310 did clue me in that I do indeed have a 1600 head (aluminum) on a 1500 block (has the lettering on the passenger side of the block). What's the going rate for a good used 1500 head that needs a valve job? I'm striving to keep this car as stock as possible.

I've got a 1500 head that has had all the machine work done to it. It did not fit on my '64 1500 with domed pistons - if you have flat pistons it might work. (It's been about 10 years since I sold my 1500 - so the details are a bit fuzzy!)
Leigh,
Could you post a picture of the combustion chamber side of the head? If it doesn't have the clearance for the domed pistons, It could be a good part for a performance build.......
