What's a good tire pressure for my roadster? I have 165 SR14 radials on a stock 68 1600. Tire wall says max 32 psi,

started with 32psi all around...definately a harder ride, tires squeal easier on take off. I'll wait till the new shocks are installed later this week, then try a lower psi...

BTW, beautiful roadster weather this week in Chicago!

I think it's around 26 for stock size tires, but not 100%
Do you still have the decal?

Oh, yeah...I forgot there was a decal on the glove box door, this is what happens when you don't drive your roadster for 19 years. Hmmmm, I didn't know my old roadster would go 125MPH.

It also depends on the tires you are using. Remember those pressures on the glove box door are for 40 year old tires, and the technology that goes with them. Also I'd bet you are running a larger tire as well. I run my street tires at about 30, if I'm trying to race on them, max pressure. I discovered today that what works for one tire will not work for another. I took the roadster racing today for the first time this year and set a different set of tires up with the hot setting I had from last year on a much smaller tire, and guess what... The car still drifts around like its on snow. Even with 225/50/14 R-compounds on. I later learned from a friend that these tires like 38-40 psi. I'll try that next week.

Needless to say, you are going to have to play with the car to find out what tire pressure works for your setup. Yes, even for daily driving there is a combo that works best for the specific setup you have on the car that offers the best grip and comfort and tire wear.

Sorry, I find modern engine swaps revolting. Keep your G, R, or U series in your Roadster!
