Hi, Taz here. I bought my 311 in 1992, in El Cajon CA. Had a bad rod then, and replaced the original engine with a later 5-main bearing smog equipped 1600. Bought the engine off a navy buddy of mine. Still have the original engine, and am going to repair it for reinstallation so I'll have a matching numbers car. Promised my wife I'd sell my favorite motorcycle for it(GS750L Suzuki). Didn't say I wouldn't buy another Suzuki though. Well I drove it for 3 years in the San Diego area. Then moved back east to the mid west and haven't drove it since. So now I'm gonna get it running again. Start with the brakes as they are locked up, it won't move now. I could probably start it as it never had a problem starting. Clutch has bled down, and probably needs seals as it has set in my garage for 11+ years. Probably put seals in the brake master cyl too. Well enough of the introductions, and without further ado here she is, my Datsun roadster:

Welcome young fella
Is the car Black or Maroon, I can't tell from the pic.
Good to hear you can get it back to a matching no. car, has to be worth more that way.
Hope you get her going OK and make sure you "Enjoy the Ride"

Greetings Taz-welcome and good luck getting her back on the road. The car must mean something to you to have drug her halfway across the country.

Hi Taz,
Welcome the the site. There is a vast array of knowedge, humor, company and fine people at this forum. If you have a question, don't be afraid to ask. Somebody on the forum "has been there done that". There is another forum member from North East Ohio. Where is your zip code?

Re: New member, longtime owner
Thanks all. It's black, with black interior Yuck!!! I want to put it back to the original color, which can be seen around the rear bumper in this pic:

as for meaning alot I can't really think of the reason I hauled it's a$$ back to the midwest except that I thought it would be a nice attention getter. I know it will when I start driving it. I found the tech section and looked up the color it's supposed to be and I think it'll look better red like the original color. Zip is in SIG Tim, we'll have to get together sometime and talk roadster stuff. take it easy all!
