67.5 radio console in a 70 dash?

Post by hoa_nugin »

Does anyone know if I can fit a 1967.5 radio console into a 1970 using the 1970 dash? I'm sure some mods/ chopping are required, but has it been done before? Thanks for any input.

In case you didn't have both yet.

I had them sitting out so I sat them side by side.

Early is taller, deeper and wider.

Is it a style thing, or to fit a better radio? There are some radio options that fit the stock 70.

Masonite and duct tape are good for a quick mockup. I was thinking of splitting the console and widening the top, have a crappy one in the basement to play with.. There are depth issues also if you use a DIN size radio.
