Cast iron head is heavier, obviously. You need a different thermostat housing; the cast iron has three holes and the aluminum two for the housing studs. No provisions for smog and some minor differences with valve seats. Otherwise it's a bolt-on.

Thanks Ambradley. Should I also change the thermostat if the iron head runs hotter, or is this a dumb question?
