A friend of mine is starting this: http://www.touringadventure.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; , 3 days, 1200Km of some of the best roads in southern British Columbia.
"The Spring Thaw is a budget-minded 3-day driving adventure through British Columbia for pre-1979 touring and sportscars. This is for those who enjoy driving their classic car hard on some of the most beautiful roads in the world. Concours cars are more than welcome, but we also encourage those less-than-mint, hard-driven, budget classics to take part. Enthusiasm for driving old, unreliable cars counts more than anything!"
Sounds like an absolute blast! Unfortunately my wife is due at the end of March so I will not be able to attend. Would be great to see some roadsters out for it...
Very cool (pun intended). Okay if I repost on a couple other Datsun forums/lists?

I guess what I was trying to say is that not everyone lives in Vancouver so this only really works for people that are closer to Squamish so the initial trek to the starting point is reasonable.
Obviously, they can't have the starting point in everyone's back yard (and I wouldn't expect them to) and since the bulk of people in BC live in the lower mainland their starting point makes some sense to me. It was not a criticism of their choice. I would have gone with the same or perhaps Hope.
I know where Squamish is and I am figuring that the route will head north to Lillooet and do a big circle back to the Vancouver area over the three day trip on various roads. The irony is I bet if I knew of the route and the timing, I could hook up with the group for a good portion of the trip but driving 1200kms just to start the trip and then 1200kms to do the trip and another 1200kms to get back home is a bit much. This is especially true when I figure I would be covering some of the same roads three times if I were to do it. ..also, it might be a bit early in the year to head up and over the mountains from Alberta.
I love the idea of this event and congratulate the organizers for taking the initiative. I hope everyone in the area takes advantage of it.
..and if I could join up for part of the event that would be a great option for me.
