Jimmy's Picnic, Sunday Oct 12th in Golden Gate Park

Post by JoeK »

Hey All, just a reminder that Jimmy's Picnic is coming up in less than a month. We have managed to make a showing of 10 or more cars in the past at this event, and we seem pretty well received, a nice respite from all the Cobra replicas. Seriously, this is a good show with a nice variety of cars. I'd like to see another good roadster/Datsun showing this year, and will be arriving early enough to secure some spots for more. I'm also going to be bringing a BBQ and picnic supplies and would be happy to bring extras if anyone is interested. Who knows, maybe I'll even get my trunk painted by then :D

What are the specifics? I have the weekend open so I should be able to make it.

Cost is $20 per car. First come first serve, though I've never seen them fill up. I'll get there early enough to secure enough spots for as many cars as I expect to show. Show is sunset to sunrise, I've always gotten there about 7am and leave around 2pm. Website is http://www.jimmyspicnic.com/ for most pertinant information. As stated above, if people are interested, I'd be happy to organize a BBQ as well.

Oh, and Alvin, this really is much closer than JCCS

Well, not sure who all is going to make this show, but I'll be there about 8am. Hope to see you there. I'll have plenty of space on the weber if you want to bring something to toss on. If you're having any trouble finding me, or have any otehr questions for that matter, feel free to call my mobile at 510-409-4466.

As a side note, some guys is making crop circles on the corner right now. Ah, the fresh smell of burning rubber. 2nd time this week to boot.

I'm bummed out I couldn't make the show. I've been chasing an gremlin on the Italian car. Anyone ever had plug wires that were good when you took them off go bad sitting on the front seat of the car for a week? I'm now half bald due to pulling my hair out trying to figure that one out.
