Velocity stack filters

Post by 311TONY423 »

Does anyone know what filters I can use for my solex44phh with 2" stacks? I found some nice ramflo's (RF445s) but they require removing the stacks. What I'd like is found on: http://www.webercarbsdirect.com/ramflo_filters The RF648s looks perfect. Is there anything out there that will work for this application? They can even be individual filters. Thanks.......

Check with your local VW shop, I believe that EMPI makes a similar Air Filter setup for the Solex carbs. The VW shop should have a catalog of Empi's products.

I'm running an ITG. there's a shop in Long Beach that serves as the importer now. I think Dean at Fairlady has them too. The one I'm running is a JC52 half round filter - Dean had JC50 rectangular filters. Either will work. It's a bit of a rubic's cube to assemble with the velocity stacks in place as there's not much room to work but I like the filter. I think all total, I spent about $160 to make mine. I used a blank backing plate and cut it out myself. I like the half round filter better as I "think" it's easier to get the stacks under it. But, I had to import it from Merlin Motorsports in England as no one in the US had the JC52 at the time.
