hi all
i'm not a datsun collector but i am looking for some technical info on a roadster diff. what ratio's, LSD's and also the measurements of the mounting points. pic's would be great
the reason i ask is that i have been told by 2 different sources that these diff's bolt into my car with out any major mods and have a better ratio
pls don't get upset that my car is a Mitsubishi but it is a rare one......

Hi back Matt!
Where are you located?
The dimensions and ratios may be suitable but I don't like your chances of actually sourcing a Roadster rear end
I can do some measuring for you if you wish, my chassis is like this: -
What about an early Escort or Cortina?
Anyhoo, here is a site with all the Technical data for the full range of Fairlady Sports cars: - http://tinyurl.com/5go9ty

i was just looking at the site and there are whole cars going for reasonable prices so i thought someone might have a cheap diff.
i haven't seen many here but there are a few still getting around and i didn't think i would find a rear end in Oz.
the main reason for these diff's is the mount points to the springs are the same and they have bigger drums.
And unless you have a lot of cash burning a hole in your pocket, forget about LSD's for the roadster. Very expensive. There are a couple people here trying to fit a 84/85 RX7 GSL rear end for the LSD in them. (and disc brakes)
A different approach might be a roadster housing with a ford 8" differential (a common racing upgrade). This would give you limitless options for gearing, a much less expensive LSD or locker solutions, larger brakes and a housing that will fit your car.
There are down sides to roadster third members, the axles on a roadster are stout but the mounting system for them leaves a lot to be desired.
