Finally going to DO IT

Post by RHAYWARD »

HELLO GANG

iam a crazy about japanses cars as the next one..i have a 67 1600 roadster

i startesd the project two years ago...

Rebulit the stock engine............and thats as far as i went.. BUT now i am going to clear my garage so i can focus on this project...

MY history..

Owner of a honda s2000 with all the Mugen upgradees i could buy....and a region organizer on s2ki.com bay area chapter

What i want to take from first modding experince from the s2000 is what i loved the most was being LOW AND LOUD...

So these are my two main objectives...anyother goodies that come along ill be more than happy about..

I have been reading through the boards and online on how too get the car low as possible....also i want to stuff the widest rims as possble and run a stretch tire setup...

so cutting the fenders to handle the rims may have to happen and i am researching an air bag suspension...

Paint: looking into primer black....chrome pices to be painted? not sure yet..

INterior....prob tossit out and just paint it

seats..put it some aftermarket racing seats

roll bar i have the standard issue....it will fir the bill

enigne: is rebuilt.....studying on what to either mikunis or webers

So ill post pics as i go along...

Anyone else besides me thinking Rhayward and Evan might be related?

Welcome to the Looney Bin. And without pics, it never happened.

The hell with it, I'm getting a Toyota with a big-ass wing and a Vtec sticker. :Tosser:
I think maybe going from a S2000 with all the JDM ELS to a 40 year old car with 60 year old carburetors etc will be an eyeopener. Primer black? Who bought the FairBitch?

YES! The ELS term has carried over to the roadster world. As for primer black, um, well seeing as 1/4 (ok perhaps a little less but still,) of my car is this color, its not cool. Primer is not cool period, it looks well, half finished. The other issue is that primer is a pita to keep clean, and is not waterproof. I now have to go back and fix the rust repair I did 6 years ago (or was that only 5?) Its not the way to go. As for making it loud, thats not hard. Making it low, well, as its been heavily documented that one can only go so low without causing major issues. I'd think carefully about this before you go crazy.

Welcome to the board,

Will
Sorry, I find modern engine swaps revolting. Keep your G, R, or U series in your Roadster!

I talked to one of the rat-rod guys at a show, they mix primer and black paint 50/50. Looks like primer, seals like paint, just wash and go.
