Good day Roadster folks!!

This is the 20th anniversary of the Modesto Datsun Roadsters Polar Bear Run (PBR) We will celebrate the wonderful spring in the valley with a fun run to Murphy's Ranch (Murphys for short) and would love to have the roadster community come out in force!

Roadster not ready? (like mine?) Then bring your favorite datsun/nissan or maybe a miata for the effect... It doesn't matter, we can share the tales even if your baby cannot make it this time.

Celebrating the 20th year with a run to Murphys!



Date: Saturday, March 1, 2008

Starting From: Meet at the Chevron in Oakdale, across from Hershey’s Chocolate on Albers Road. We will leave the Oakdale at 9:00 a.m. Maps and tour info will be passed out before we leave.

Length: We will travel about 150 miles, starting with the twists along valley river roads, foothill roads to San Andreas, then onto lunch at Murphys, plan upon returning to the Modesto area by 3-4 PM.

Car Prep: Be sure to fill your tank up prior to 9 a.m., working CB radio, and of course – TOPS DOWN!

Lunch: Bring something to share for a potluck, and bring along your own plate, table service, and something to drink. Lunch will be at the park gazebo in downtown Murphys. Enjoy your friends (and perhaps make some new ones), chat, relax, and share tales of roadsters.

Dash Plaques/Decals: We will have an event decal and a memento for proof of your great time in the valley, during late winter 2008!

Raffle: We will have a raffle to offer at lunchtime, any raffle prizes are welcomed and appreciated. $1.00 per ticket.


Our 20th annual run is dedicated to the memory of Paul Smith. Thank you for joining us this year and have a safe, fun trip!!

Dont hesistate to ask questions (like the actual address for starting point for you google map types) and come on out for a ride without having to keep clean for a show and shine. Ride on!!

Just a reminder to any Roadster fan in the Central California Area-

Bring out your roadster or Nissan/Datsun related (or any other topless car/horseless carriage) for this Saturday's 20th annual Polar Bear Run.

This run was initially put on by Paul Smith of Modesto, and once again, we will roll out along the valley foothills up to Murphys for lunch, using some of his maps from years past. Check out the first for details, meet at the Oakdale Chevron on Albers on the North side of town, near Hershey's old plant at 8:30.

We should be back to Modesto area by 4:00 or so, with about 150 miles on your slightly mis-calculated odometer.

We are meeting on the SOUTH side of Oakdale, I just can't seem to get my compass oriented correctly without the topless feel of the roadster!!
