Guys,

I got a new camera solution for the roadster and it works great. Here is a link to recent footage from Las Vegas Motorspeedway.

Ron,
Nice videos. You aren't supposed to play in the sand while racing however :P . It looked like you kinda got the door closed on you in a big way there. The good news is that nobody hit you and the car is still in one piece.

Sorry, I find modern engine swaps revolting. Keep your G, R, or U series in your Roadster!

Yep got closed in a hurry. I had very few options and for some reason I thought there was someone to my right. So I had no place to go but to dive into the gravel and hang on.

Fortunately no one was hit or hurt. Well maybe my pride a little...

It is strange to look at it after the fact...

Nice ridealong Ron. Yikes! LOL

What was the camera solution? The video seemed pretty stable.

video gauge readings, explain?

Post by FergO2k »

Hey Ron,
can you explain, for us newbies, the scroll bars on the video, and what it is recording? speed seems to be the digital readout, but the one going vertical on the LH side of the screen fakes me out.
G forces? A
nd is the one across the top the throttle, that is why it jukes every time there is a shift?
Great stuff, thanks for posting.
that Alfa guy at Coronado was certainly blocking... you could certainly tell you were 'keeping it clean' so that you'd get invited back.
thanks Ron,

Hi guys,

To catch up on a couple of questions regarding my camera system. Alvin got 2 of the 3 main items. The overlay on the video is from a G-Box that uses a GPS system to track G forces left to right as well as G forces while under braking or acceleration. The bar graph on the side is G forces left to right. The top bar is brake and accel. When I shift the car is not under power and it shows up on that display with a dip.

The bullet camera is the way to go, trying to get a standard camera to stay still in a covertable with all the wind and shaking was impossible. This is a much better solution.

Looks like a few of you guys found the Coronado footage I just put up. I will be out at California Speedway in December to put down a few laps and I will be sure to video that as well.
