Also don't forget to lube all the zerk fittings to protect expensive suspension parts etc.
You must have good Karma, Yasin

I second the thought on the insurance. My little incident last year totaled up at just under $10k. Thats both out of pocket and insurance cost. I still have a cracked windshield. Original cars are so cool, wheel changes are ok because steel wheels crack and the roadster ones tend to be flex quite a bit. The Revolutions are sweet because you never see them on a roadster (I think Victor is the only one with a set.)dbrick wrote:I gotta give the brass b@((s award for brake testing on Pikes Peak. Gotta love the time capsule cars. It looks great. The petronix is a nice idea, still looks stock. You have an easy winner in the "unrestored " class at any show you go to. Insure the crap out of it, just in case some fool in a minivan decides to t-bone it.
Well, at least there were no Everwings in the trunk, that would be twisting the knife.
Congrats.
Hi Gang - Just checking in, I have been working on my multi year 280ZX Turbo project (engine back out!) and so have not logged in for a while.SLOroadster wrote:I second the thought on the insurance. Many thanks! I agree...thinking back probably not the smartest move, as the front lft brake caliper started leaking fluid a few weeks later after more regular use! I guess thats determination...LOL!vytis wrote:Great pictures!!! Nice find....now I know what mine is supposedto look like. I've never actually seen one of these cars, except for the one I salvaged....like the other post said, it took some guts to test drive down the mountain
...great story
The paint has countless hours of elbow grease to get it where it is now, and water sanding is hard work but it really revived it. Not perfect, but a 100X better than what it was. The original owner stopped by last week to see the car (we agreed on visitation rights...LOL) and he could not believe it was the same car. Many thanks for your compliments.windy311 wrote:Great story and very nice find,i seen the firstcouple of pic's but then the last few and WOW the paint came up sweet.
Thanks! Brass Ba!!s is right...or utmost foolishness! LOL...My plan is to keep the car the way it is..too original and unmolested. The brass valve seats will be the first thing that gives up and they still good for 50,000miles and I will probably not do that for at least 30years...!!LOL..if not more. There were no Everwings in the trunk but lots of boxes of Antique Mercury Boat parts...not sure what to do with those yet?dbrick wrote:I gotta give the brass b@((s award for brake testing on Pikes Peak.
