SB708

Post by impinhigh1 »

Club members, interested parties and auto enthusiast,

Senator Dean Flores of Fresno has introduced Senate Bill 708 to modify the current smog exemption law from car over 30 years old to cars over 45 years of age. If you own vehicles that are under or soon to be under the 30 year exemption this will add another 15 year of meeting the State smog requirements. This will affect all cars of this vintage including cars that have never been smog equipped and cars that have had the smog equipment remove. Think about the possible cost impact to you and how this will affect your ability to own and drive your classic vehicles.

It is a known fact that the vast majority of these vehicles are not daily drivers and log just fraction of the miles of an ordinary vehicle used for transportation.

Make no mistake about it.. This is a grab for additional State revenue and not an attempt to solve a pollution problem.

Please take the time to contact your State Representation and let them know how you feel!!!

Tell them that you and your family vote on election days and you will consider their actions on SB708 when you cast your ballots.

If we don’t our cars and our hobbies may be doomed for the crusher.

Here’s how to find your legislator and contact them to voice your opposition to SB 708:

CA again

Post by 70MTroadster »

 Looks to me like the 7th largest economy in the world is practicing its "incrementalism" again. Uno what they say, "As CA goes, so goes the Nation". I sure hope not. I hope this thing is soundly defeated. I hope the CA contingent gets its act together to defeat this. Good luck.
