It's 1:49 in the morning...I just finished replacing the gastank, provided by Dave and Pat, blew out 30 years of dust, mouse poop , a 12 inch piece of vinyl hose and half a gas cap from inside. Spent 2 hours $10.00 worth of noxious chemicals and my Wife's nailfile getting the fuel sender to work.
Can't start it cause it will wake the neighbors, so tomorrow we see.

Funny you should bring that up..... Halfway to the Glen, pushed in the lighter and the radio, GPS, and a few other things shut off. I blew the "Common" fuse, so named because it is very common for it to blow, I keep a box of 20 amps in the glove. I was going to change it while driving on a nice windy 2 lane, for style points, but my Wife didn't think it was a good idea (?).ppeters914 wrote: Need to fix the lighter, though....
I learned 2 things...
1. Don't press in the lighter.
2. Don't consult on repair methods.
Other than occasionally plugging up the fuel line and/or filter and suddenly stalling without warning, car ran like a top, 750+ miles, 32 MPG on the way home.
More updates on the Glen soon.

Watkins Glen Pictures
The Watkins Glen weekend was great. First time back to the Glen since the 1971 US Grand Prix.
Friday started with the closing of the entire main street of Watkins Glen. Part of the main street held a vintage car show , two roadsters were on display. The highlight of the afternoon is the re-enactment of the early 1948- 1953 sports car races that were held on a 6 mile road track that included the main street of Watkins Glen. One roadster participated . Friday night the DRONE Club held a barbecue ( quality, high octane double IPA was supplied by the Captain Lawrence Brewing Company ).
Saturday started with a DRONE sponsored show and shine in the Wakins Glen State Park. More than 20 roadsters, two Z cars and a Datsun truck participated.
Link to some pictures; I had some camera problems , so, limited shots.

Saturday afternoon the roadsters split up, some went wine tasting and others went to the track to see the SVAR races. I believe Andy Vitek from Philadelphia in roadster # 123 placed 3rd in Sunday final of Group 3cp.
Saturday night most of the roadsters gathered in Watkins Glen State Park for an informal get together and raffle of various roadster parts , gift certificates, other goodies and beer. At the end of the night all said goodbyes until next year.
Looking forward to next year.

Hello All,
Just a minor clarification. DRONE does sponsor the barbeque but does not sponsor the show and shine. The show and shine is primarily just a freelance gathering of old and new friends at the parking lot to the state park.

Light Blue 69 2000 at Watkins Glen
The light blue '69 2000 is mine. It is SRL311-11093. I have owned it since around 1995. I have been coming to the fall races at the Glen since the track was purchased by Corning Glass in the 1980s, when the races were known as the Serengetti Vintage Cup.mgslayer wrote:Sweet Pics Vince.
Who owns the light blue '69 2000 from Maryland?
Mark
This trip was the first time since 2003 that I drove the roadster up for the weekend. Although it needs a paint job and some other brightening, it runs well and it was a pleasure to drive it around the Finger Lakes.
For those who didn't attend, you missed a very good time.
