14x6 +8, +13 on 67.5 1600

Post by drewnamis »

Hi guys,

New to this board. 1st post. I'm considering getting some used wheels which are 14x6 +8 and +13. I'm thinking that this'll fit no problem and actually put the wheels pretty far out but under the fenders. Anyone think the contrary? I've checked the site and they seem to be acceptable.

Hi guys, anyone know if P185/60R14's will fit on the 67 1600 stock wheels?

It will be a squeeze, but they can be put on the wheels...

The manufacturer may recommend a wider wheel width than 4" though...

I know on the main page there's info on the stock wheel width, but what was the stock tire size?

The 13" SP310 tyre was 560 x 13", approximates to a 145/80 x 13".
The 14" SP311 tyre was a 560 x 14", approximates to 145/80 x 14".

A 185/60R14 tyre is designed for a 5" rim width but is suitable for 5" - 6.5".
The 1600 was factory fitted with 14 x 5" rims and from 1967 was supposed to have gone to 14 x 5.5" rims.
So on that basis the 185/60 tyre should be OK.

The roadsters were fitted with 4" wide wheels up through 67.5. The 2000s and most of the later 1600s (post 67.5) had 4.5" wide wheels. The 5" wheels did not arrive until the Z cars.
