Finally picked up my Roadster from the shop after an extended period of time. She is ready for a good wash & detail, but here are some photos of the car with the new wheels and comp springs.
Wow. Now that's a beautiful car. I really like the new wheels (I better, since I got them too!), but I must say, there is definitely something to be said for the whitewalls as well. Either way, it's a definite thumbs up.
By the way, did you trim your old bump stops or elect to get some new comp ones? I trimmed my old ones down a bit, but need to either trim them further or just get some fresh comps.
1) STUNNING roadster, the wheels only add to the look, and I'm sure the tires have changed your driving experience 10 fold!
2) They look too much like Minilites, yuck! The center section is too heavy and thick, need more spoke, stick waaaay to far past the front flare
3) Put some PANASPORTS on!
4) Damn that is one sexy interior....
The tires/rims are probably about 2MM past the flares...but..If I had the later flares (1967.5) it would be much less noticeable. Also, I bought some pretty WIDE tires. If I used a 185/60 it may have made a small difference.
BTW: On my 67 2000 the 14 inch panasports with falken rt-215 had a fairly similar fit, but the 67.5 had the extra bit of fender flare.
The Wheels are made by a company called Superlite. Pack Racing Products in Arizona, had a special on the rims for sale, $460 for 4 rims (14x6), lug nuts, valve stems and center caps. There is a very long, recent thread on the subject on the forum.
Linda, the center caps push on from the outside. I believe that Pack Racing also carries replacement centercaps for sale.
Sid, the White Walls are safely stored in the garage. They will continue to make "an appearence" periodically.
Not that I am coming to the defense of Alvin, and 23yr please dont take this the wrong way but wouldn't you want to fix the rear fender correctly by replacing it with a relpacement steel panel?
That would resolve the majority of your rubbing problem and allow you to make the necessary fender lip modification you need to stop the rubbing problem. Besides, fiberglass repairs, (as I am sure you know) are not the last word when it comes to that kind of repair. Eventually your car will continue to rust even with the fiberglass in place.
I think I would start looking for donor panels before prices and availability go insane for these cars....
As for the topic at hand...
I have seen the superlights on Avidtest's roadster and have Panasports on mine...and I have to say the the smaller center and longer spokes on the Panasports look better to me. For the money, well that is personal taste.
Dan, your cars are fantastic, you have a wonderful collection of roadsters!!

I was looking at MGB's on Ebay and noticed that many of them have wire wheels, which I think look very cool. But rarely do I see our roadsters with them. When I've seen Datsuns with wires, they look out of place. As do Panasport/Superlites on MGB's. Is it just me
