Please guide me changing oil pan gasket

Post by LongBeach311 »

How difficult is it? The oil pan gasket removal seems to be pretty easy job.

Drain the oil, take the bolts off, clean the pan, put new gasket and how much torque for the bolts?

Please advise if I have some steps missing. Thank you!

You pretty much covered it. Make sure you remove any old gasket hanging to the block as well. A gasket scraper works best but a sharp putty knife does the trick as well. 3.6 foot pounds on the oil pan bolts. Do not over do it as you will have a leak. Piece of cake.
