Hi guys, I am new in this forum, but enjoy it already. I have been looking for a Roadster forum or clubs around socal, but it seems like they are long gone.

Well, I hope I am welcome here and I will regularly visit this forum since we all share the same interest in Roadster... [:)]

This is a little bit of pics of my car that I have owned for close to a year.

In the pic I might look young, well, it is because I am 21 years old, and love Fairlady, not a street racer though... I guess I am just a sucker for a classic. [:)]

I'm 24 years old - not too far off from you - and I'm still new to all of this. Welcome to the forum. Everyone is friendly and helpful.

You are most welcome. Nice looking car by the way. There are a lot of roadsters down your way but it is a tough job getting people to get together. Feel free to ask any questions you might have and share your experiences with us. We learn from each other here.

Hi Slo! I saw your car in the Car of the Month section and it is nice! looks like you did a lot of work to it. I hope one day I will be able to see it in person, or even sit next to you on autocross... hahaha....
I still got my snell2000 helmet laying around in my garage.

I used to be in Drift Day at Club4AG using my 1986 FR Corolla GTS. But then one guy told me he met his wife with my Corolla back in the late 80s. He asked me if I am selling it, I said no, and he offered me the Roadster... so I said hell yeah I am trading it with no money involved... sadly now it is running kinda rough... hiks...

Cars

Some day my car will get paint. It still has some issues, I wish it had started out in the same shape your car is in. That thing looks good. You will get your car running, and when you do, you will have a lot of fun with it. I'll see you at Solvang in April.

Wassup LongBeach311! I can't remember when or where, but I sent you a message earlier this week. I live in Torrance, work in Long Beach, and being in my last "twenties" years, pretty much same generation as you. I am close to finishing my restoration of a "68 1600 Roadster. I'm a car freak., and have done all the engine/tranny/frame/suspension...etc, etc. by myself in my garage. I'll be nice to share the Roadster freakness with someone close by. I'm Jorge, BTW, and u can hit me at jorge0227@aol.com.

Solvang

Post by SLOroadster »

LB311,
There will be a caravan that drives up from the south. Once you get the bugs out, your car will be fine for the drive. You have lots of time. Solvang is fun, Mt Shasta is even more fun.

Never doubt these cars, if know you got a problem that's one things but, if everything is squared away-never fear! The R16 has no problems blasting for hours at 4500 rmp.. MIGHT DRIVE YOU NUTS. Solvang and Shasta are really worth the effort it takes.

roadsters

Post by SLOroadster »

Both engines are solid. The way my car is geared it sits at 5000 RPM on the freeway. It will do it all day long (literally). The R16 is the same way. It has yet to let me down (although it thought about it yesterday. I can't figure out why it did what it did but it seems to be more or less fine today. It had a sudden gearbox issue that went away just as quickly as it appeared.) Drive the car and have fun with it. Should it do something evil, you know where to turn for help.
