Post by Howard R »

My windshield washer isnt operating (not that I use it). But I would like everything in the car to work. Where is the mechanism/pump/motor located? Thanks, Howard

The pump for the 68 - 70 is in the bottom of the washer bottle.

At times, the pump gets stuck. A drop of oil and a little banging can get her running again. If the motor is fried, I have bought the generic motor for the Auto Parts store, and with a little shaving of the plastic mounts was able to mount it into the rubber mounting bushing. However, that store bought motor did not last very long AT ALL. Next time, I'll look for a junk yard, late model Nissan and steal it's motor. I'm betting that, even so the vessel changes for each car, each year, the motor is most likely unchanged over the past 40 years.

Vic, I WD40'd the impeller shaft and tested the motor. That problem is solved. Thanks
